Becky Miller

Vice President

Becky joined the Glade Run Lake Conservancy (GRLC) board in 2012. She is originally from the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York.

Becky grew up riding horses, working on a small family hobby farm, camping, hiking, and even swimming horses in Cayuga Lake. She was a member of the Explorers in high school.

Becky earned a B.S. in Chemistry at Wellesley College in 1985 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell in 1991. She practiced equine and small animal medicine in Rochester, New York (on the shores of Lake Ontario) before moving to Pittsburgh in 1995. Becky retired from equine practice in 1997 to join the Emergency Clinic of Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center (PVSEC) as an emergency small animal veterinarian and continues in that role today.

Becky enjoys walking her dogs at the lake, watching wildlife, paddling kayaks, and fishing with the young children in her family. She is a reformed marathon runner and directed GRLC's three 10K races.

Becky recalls encountering several people at Glade Run Lake Park who say it is a place they feel at peace, and she couldn't agree more. Becky is a believer that muddy dogs and muddy kids are signs of happiness, and every trip made to the lake brings some new adventure or wildlife sighting if you walk slowly and quietly with your eyes and ears open.
