Lisa Busa
Director
Lisa grew up in central Pennsylvania in an area known as Big Valley. Her love of animals brought her to Pittsburgh where she attended the Vet Tech Institute. In 2005, she graduated with an Associate's Degree in Specialized Technology and became a board certified veterinary technician. In 2009, she became a volunteer at Wildbird Recovery, a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center in Butler County. At Wildbird Recovery, she assists in the care, treatment, and release of orphaned and injured wild birds. She also participates in educating the public on preserving native species, habitat, and the environment.

Lisa completed the Wildlife Rehabilitation Basics course and Wildlife Capture and Transport course in 2015. She was issued a Wildlife Capture and Transport permit by the Pennsylvania Game Commission that same year. In the summer of 2020, she joined the Wildlife in Need PA as a capture and transport permit courier, transporting distressed wildlife to various rehabilitation centers.
Lisa joined the Glade Run Lake Conservancy Board of Directors in October of 2020. Her participation as a board member includes lake stewardship, fundraising, and assisting in species inventory.

In her free time, Lisa enjoys hiking, boating, and honing her skills in nature photography. She also enjoys many artistic hobbies that allow her to unleash her creativity. She is a member of Woodland Valley Church in Mars. Lisa lives in south Butler with her husband, Jim, her two rescued doggies, Lucy and Oliver, and her kitty, Kazoo.
